Ashish Manwar works at the intersection of health systems innovation, implementation research, community based participatory-design, and evidence-informed decision-making. 

At the George, he led the participatory innovation-to-adoption pathways with participating entrepreneurs, funders in the health, technology, and care domains as part of the India Health Accelerator Fellowship with UNICEF. As part of The Resilience Collaborative and USAID Digital Health co-production with frontline professionals, he worked on the intervention co-design, deployment and systematic reviews and evidence maps for readiness and burden-informed decision framing. 

He specializes in theory of change and transformative scenario processes in outcomes design and assessments for systems level resilience and population health outcomes. Drawing on his background in aeronautics, complexity and foresight Ashish brings a transdisciplinary perspective with over 25 years across impact investment, enterprise innovation, strategic foresight, in the areas of governance effectiveness, preventive health, and research consulting in South Asia, Africa and Oceania regions.

A few of his research interests comprise: understanding how health, resilience, and vulnerability emerge within complex planetary socio ecological, and institutional systems, integrating anticipatory analytics, salutogenesis, and indigenous practices to support adaptive capacity and prevention. He is also working on role of leadership, participatory systems mapping and modelling approaches in enabling health-system resilience, governance, and transformation under conditions of uncertainty and polycrisis.
 

Alexia is a Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health where she also the Program Manager of Sepsis Support, a project aiming to revolutionise post-sepsis support across Australia by co-designing and piloting innovative new follow-up models of care. She also is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) within the School of Public Health and Social Work. 

Alexia has worked clinically in hospitals and health services across Queensland and the United Kingdom. It is through this frontline clinical experience where Alexia’s interest grew in health services innovation and research directed at improving evidence-based healthcare.  Her innovative work led her to create the Brisbane Evidence-Based Language Test (Brisbane EBLT). This post-stroke diagnostic language assessment has been downloaded over 200,000 times and is used daily in hospitals across Australia, the UK and the USA.
