Nutrition and lifestyle

The Nutrition and Lifestyle unit works to reduce rates of death and disease caused by diets high in salt, saturated fat and sugar or excess energy, by undertaking research and advocating for a healthier food environment.

Its main focuses are food reformulation, monitoring changes in the food supply, and developing and testing innovative approaches to encourage consumers towards better food choices. A key example of innovation and collaboration is FoodSwitch, an award winning phone app that helps consumers to make healthier choices in prepackaged foods. Furthermore, we are developing SmartDiet technique currently, hoping to advocate for a healthy lifestyle with balanced diet and physical activity.
