Associate Professor Brendon Neuen is Lead Global Clinical Trialist at The George Institute for Global Health, a nephrologist, and Director of Kidney Trials at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is Co-Chair of SMART-C (SGLT2 Inhibitor Meta-Analysis Cardio-Renal Trialists' Consortium; www.SMART-C.net), Scientific Director of the CLARITY-IgAN Consortium (Collaborative Longitudinal Assessment of Randomised Interventions and Therapies; www.CLARITY-IgAN.org) and holds senior leadership roles in multiple global, late-phase drug registration trials evaluating therapies to prevent kidney failure and its cardiovascular complications.

A/Prof Neuen's research has informed more than 30 clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements. He is actively involved in the development of national and international standards, including for KDIGO and the American Society of Nephrology. A/Prof Neuen has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, including works in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, and Nature Medicine. He serves on the editorial boards for flagship journals of the American Society of Nephrology, European Renal Association, and the American Diabetes Association.

A/Prof Neuen is the author of over 150 peer-reviewed publications in general medical journals including The Lancet, BMJ and Nature Medicine, and specialty journals including Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, Circulation, and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. He serves on the Editorial Boards of the American Society of Nephrology and Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation (flagship journal of the European Renal Association). His work is supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, New South Wales Health, the Ramaciotti Foundation, as well as philanthropic sources, and has been recognised through multiple awards, including the Royal Society of New South Wales Ida Browne Medal, and the American Heart Association's Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award.

Dr. Devarsetty Praveen is a public health expert with deep knowledge of epidemiological research and a strong focus on using system-based innovations to tackle inequities in chronic disease care. He serves as the Director of the NIHR-funded Global Health Research Center for NCDs and Environmental Changes, as well as the Director of the Primary Health Care Research Consortium Secretariat. In these roles, he leads research efforts that are policy-relevant and aim to strengthen high-quality primary health care systems globally.

Dr. Praveen has extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale primary care research projects, particularly using digital health strategies (e/m-health) in countries such as India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Thailand. He applies mixed-methods research and implementation science to integrate proven evidence into routine practice, improving access to quality health care.

He is the elected Co-Chair of the Hypertension Research Program within the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases, a network of major research funding agencies dedicated to addressing chronic non-communicable diseases. Dr. Praveen holds a PhD in Medicine from the School of Public Health, University of Sydney.

Professor Anushka Patel is CEO and Director of The George Institute for Global Health and Scientia Professor at UNSW, Sydney. She is a cardiologist with research interests in the prevention and management of common chronic conditions through large-scale clinical trials and implementation science. 

Anushka undertook her medical training at the University of Queensland, with subsequent postgraduate research degrees from Harvard University and University of Sydney. Anushka is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and is a Director and Trustee of the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute.
