Sumaiya Arfin is a dental surgeon with training in public health. She completed her undergraduate training from Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Dental College, AMU, Aligarh and post-graduate course from Amity Institute of Public Health, Amity University, Noida. She has worked with resource-poor settings in central India to provide oral screenings and dental care to the population.

Her research at the institute includes development and implementation of mobile based decision support systems for prevention, screening, treatment and management of non-communicable diseases. She is working to develop and help design a registry for documenting health and economic outcomes of CKD patients on maintenance dialysis treatment and train stakeholders to use the web-based platform. She is also engaged in various reviews and analytical reports on the technology enabled initiatives and interventions for better health and care in India.

Her research interests include technology led innovations to better health care system and improving existing health care practices by evidence-based research.
