A masterclass on systematic review of randomised controlled trials

Systematic reviews are a cornerstone of evidence-based medicine, providing rigorous answers to clearly defined research questions through structured identification, appraisal, and synthesis of empirical evidence.
The George Institute for Global Health is offering a masterclass on systematic reviews of randomised controlled trials, featuring hands-on training in developing a basic systematic review protocol and an evidence-synthesis toolkit handbook developed in-house by the Meta-research and Evidence Synthesis Unit.
This is a 2-day, in-person masterclass. Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon full attendance of the masterclass.
NOTE: This is a paid event.
Course fee: AUD $550 per participant (incl. GST) or AUD $440 per participants (incl. GST) from TGI affiliated organisations.

Who should attend?
Clinician-researchers, trialists, PhD students, and early- to mid-career researchers involved in evidence synthesis or trial design, as well as health professionals and policy staff who use systematic reviews to inform decision making.
Learning objectives
- Apply evidence-informed medicine and conduct systematic reviews of randomised controlled trials
- Develop focused review questions and perform structured literature searches with screening, data extraction, and risk-of-bias assessment (including Covidence)
- Understand core concepts of meta-analysis, including heterogeneity and subgroup analysis
