Cardiovascular

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world. It accounts for more than 17 million deaths a year and the figure is rising. Our aim is to develop new strategies for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases by targeting their primary risk factors such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and smoking.

The problem is particularly acute in developing countries, where the need for initiatives addressing cardiovascular health has been identified as a global health priority. Our studies are focused on generating strong evidence to effect real change in practice and policy.

By initiating changes in clinical practice and government policy, we hope to reverse the growing impact of these killer diseases.
