Chair in Chronic and Complex Diseases
Imperial College London and The George Institute for Global Health together are inviting expressions of interest for three new professorships:
- Chair in Global Women’s Health
- Chair in Health Systems Science
- Chair in Chronic and Complex Diseases
In 2020, Imperial College London and The George Institute for Global Health embarked on a new partnership to drive the development, evaluation and implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions to some of the world’s greatest health challenges. The George Institute in the UK is now seeking three professors to help build our research expertise and outputs within the fields of women’s health, health systems and multimorbidity research, and to contribute to growing the impact of our research on global policy and practice.
Founded over 20 years ago in Australia, and now with centres also in China, India and the UK, the mission of The George Institute for Global Health is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide by finding better treatments for the world’s biggest health problems; by transforming primary health care to support better health for more people; and by harnessing the power of governments, markets and communities to improve population health. To deliver this mission, The George Institute UK will focus its research in the three key areas of women’s health, health systems and multimorbidity, as well as supporting collaborative initiatives in clinical trials and planetary health.
As part of building The George Institute UK, we are also currently recruiting an Executive Director, and the new professors will support leadership by contributing to The George Institute’s collaboration with Imperial, and championing the missions of both organisations. As well as conducting your own programme of research, you will support the Executive Director in developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan for the long-term growth of The George Institute UK at Imperial College London.
We offer a competitive salary, negotiable, depending on experience. The successful applicants may be employed by either The George Institute UK or Imperial College London, subject to discussion, and will be tenured Imperial Professors. The George Institute and Imperial strongly encourage applications from those with a diverse range of backgrounds and from under-represented groups.
