Naomi is a research fellow and a PhD candidate in the critical care and trauma division at the George Institute. She also works part-time as the Intensive Care Research Manager at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney. She is a trained intensive care nurse with a master of nursing (critical care) and a master of public health both from Sydney University.
Naomi has worked in intensive care for over 12 years with the majority of these years focused in critical care research. She has broad knowledge in the co-ordination and management of sponsor, investigator and collaborative driven clinical trials. Naomi has previously lived in Beijing, China, where she worked with the George Institute as an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development reviewing China trauma systems.
Naomi's research interests include fluid resuscitation, management of fever, nursing handover, management of the deteriorating patient, long-term outcomes post critical illness, and continuous glucose monitoring in critically ill patients. Naomi is an NHMRC postgraduate scholarship holder and is currently conducting her PhD in translational research of fluid resuscitation practices in critical care.
