Research training programs

The George Institute provides a range of training and development opportunities for the next generation of researchers, such as programs and courses in research methodology, as well as mentoring.

Led by some of the world’s leading researchers, who provide key insights from their experience, our training programs support career development, and encourage our researchers to excel in their field. We have trained over 250 researchers from around the world with the necessary skills to make a crucial difference to some of the world’s most underserved populations.

If you are interested in developing your staff towards this area, contact Kate Ballard, Program Manager, Research Training.

If you are a student interested in an internship, please see below.

Growing the research workforce

In addition to our research in low- and middle-income countries, we are building local capacity in high-impact research.

Our research programs include PhD students who attend one of our affiliated institutes, such as the University of New South Wales, Sydney and the University of Oxford. Every year, the Institute is home to more than 70 postgraduate students globally. In addition, our senior researchers in one of our centres globally supervise, mentor and further train other postdoctoral fellows and visiting researchers who are more advanced in their career to further hone their skills.
