Dr Veena Singh
Dr Veena Singh is a Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health. She has an MPH & PhD in International Health - Human Nutrition from the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA and has completed her Master’s degree in Food Science & Applied Nutrition from the University of Allahabad, India.
Dr. Singh has 18+ years of experience in teaching and large-scale population-based research. Prior to working with George, Veena has worked in USA, India and Africa with a number of organisations including the World Health Organisation, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI), Professor, Global Health and Nutrition, International Institute for Health Management Research (IIHMR), New Delhi. Most recently, she was with PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. as a technical lead for a USAID funded Global Linkages project where select RMNCH+A Indian innovations are being transferred to select Asian and African countries.
She is interested in food, nutrition and health policy, dual burden of diseases faced by emerging economies and pockets of the developed world (under as well as overnutrition and its impact on infectious and chronic disease epidemiology), health systems research and community-based interventions.
