Dr. Chetan Purad
Dr. Chetan is a senior development and public health professional with diverse programmatic experience, ranging from grassroots to the national level in primary health care, public health finance and health care technology.
He has a master’s degree in public health and health care management and works as the Clinical Lead at The George Institute for Global Health, India. His current work involves research into guideline-based clinical algorithms, decision support rules for m-health platform. He is also associated with the ‘process and economic evaluation’ of SMART health project.
His has worked with various stakeholders including the state and union governments to design and scale-up of community-led interventions in relation to RNTCP and RMNCH+A programs with emphasis on systems strengthening, promoting data driven management and continuous facility improvement.
He has directed efforts for all programs to achieve a state of strengthened health system and have contributed towards building robust systems in the states of Andhra, Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir.
During his tenure with Columbia University, he authored technical reports on addressing the constraints for scale-up and implementation with the health systems perspective. These are available on request at the Columbia global centers website.
His areas of special interest are 'health economics', economic evaluations of complex interventions and developing technology to address access to health care.
