We have a new and exciting opportunities for an Associate Project Manager to join our growing organisation.
The Academic Project Operations (APO) team works closely with our research team to ensure study aims are achieved. The team is primarily responsible for the set-up, conduct and overall delivery of a projects across all research programs in The Institute, according to best practice guidelines and research budgets.
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the development, conduct and completion of clinical trial research projects.
The PM will drive, manage and deliver clinical research projects from start-up to close out including all aspects of project document development, budget, safety, quality and team management. Leadership, problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork and flexibility are key attributes required to undertake this role in a busy global academic research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, budgets and requirements including statistics, data management, safety & quality
- Oversee or conduct site and country feasibility assessments and selection
- Deliver project milestones, and continuously monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, reporting to stakeholders as required
- Conduct contract negotiations, stakeholder engagement and team communication
- Oversee steering and monitoring committees, with support from project team members
- Ensure all reporting, safety, quality and monitoring requirements are met
- Maintain compliance with all ethical & regulatory requirements and organisational SOPs.
- Provide technical advice and guidance in project consultations and reviews
- Develop and share knowledge across the APO Team and contribute to development of SOPs, training materials and other resources
- Manage & support project team

- Tertiary qualifications in a related science or health care discipline
- Relevant experience in project management of complex trials with academic, pharmaceutical, CRO, Biotechnology and/or medical device background
- Comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of GCP, Australian and international ethical and regulatory requirements
- Highly collaborative with ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience leading a team, including developing and supporting junior staff
- Proficient in use of the Microsoft office suite of products including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, focus on quality of work, and ability to keep track of multiple projects
- Ability to travel within Australia (generally up to 4 times a year)
- Knowledge of or experience in oncology, neurology/neuroscience, or renal trials, especially in a global context, will be highly regarded.
