Statistics and Data Management

The George Institute has its own Statistics and Data Management Division which provides comprehensive services to support all research undertaken by the Institute both locally and globally. It also offers services to external institutions and pharmaceutical companies on a contract basis.

The division currently comprises 19 employees and two honorary professorial fellows. The majority of our staff is based in our Sydney office with a growing team in India. We have many years of combined experience in the design and analysis of clinical trials and are familiar with a wide range of therapeutic areas, including cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, oncology, infectious diseases, critical care, injury, pain control and substance abuse.

While the majority of our work is related to clinical trials, we support a range of other research projects (cross-sectional surveys, case-control studies, cluster trials, etc.) and provide general advice and training to Institute staff (eg. SAS courses or statistical seminars). We conduct an innovative statistical research program aimed at addressing methodological problems relevant to our medical research.
