Associate Professor Konstantin Yastrebov
Dr Konstantin Yastrebov is a Full-time Senior Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine at The St George Hospital in Sydney and an Associate Professor in the St George School of Medicine at the University of New South Wales.
Dr Yastrebov has over 25 years of practice and research experience in Critical Care Medicine. His postgraduate qualifications include specialties of Intensive Care Medicine, Anesthesia, General Practice and Ultrasonography. His special interest for the last 20 years has been Critical Care Echocardiography where he has an extensive international record of accomplishment in education and research and completed PhD in 1998.
Konstantin was among pioneers of critical care echocardiography education in Australia, contributing to the establishment and many years of progress of the Postgraduate Diploma of Echocardiography in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of Melbourne, serving as a Steering Committee Member and as an Honorary Senior Fellow at the Cardiovascular Therapeutics Unit.
He is a past Chair of Tasmanian ANZICS, past member of ANZICS Safety and Quality Committee and a past member of ANZICS Board of Directors. He established Critical Care Echocardiography Fellowship Program at St George Hospital.
Dr Yastrebov’s current research interests are in the areas of echocardiography, central haemodynamics and fluids resuscitation.
