Ms Kelly Thompson is a Senior Clinical Research Associate and PhD Student with the Critical Care and Trauma Division. As an experienced operational and academic researcher, Kelly is involved in many projects across the Critical Care & Trauma division and her main interest is in the long-term outcomes and economics of critical illness.
Kelly has worked in the health care sector since 2004 and joined The George Institute in 2012 to undertake full-time clinical research. Prior to joining The George Institute, Kelly worked as a registered nurse, specialising in cardiothoracic intensive care at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
In 2016, Kelly obtained a Master of Public Health, specialising in economic evaluation from UNSW and she is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of New South Wales looking at a suite of epidemiological and economic outcome analyses for patients who survive severe critical illness, namely, septic shock.
