Dr Chetan Purad
Dr Chetan C P is a medical doctor with master’s in public health and health care management.
His work spans over 15 years ranging from grassroots to the national level as a Researcher and a techno-managerial professional in primary health care, public health finance and health care technology.
Dr. Chetan has worked at primary health care centres, WHO project for TB control, Public Health Foundation of India at the Affordable health technology division and Columbia University.
As the State Hq Consultant at WHO – RNTCP project, Dr. Chetan has extended techno-managerial support to the state and union governments in scaling-up community-led interventions in public health and health technology areas with emphasis on systems strengthening, promoting data driven management and continuous facility improvement.
He has planned and executed 10+ projects, managed 30 + state level review meetings, 5 National level review meetings, 5+ annual state health budgeting and control with 30+ evaluation and monitoring missions.
He is experienced in conduct of state and national level trainings for doctors and medical college faculty.
As the National coordinator RMNCH+A, Dr. Purad worked towards technology that can enable patients to have access to healthcare at their doorstep and towards inculcating best practices in medical education and promoting patient compliance and patient access through information technology.
As the team leader with Columbia University, ‘model health district’ project he was instrumental in assisting the GoT in establishing the e-PHC (Virtual consultation centers) and authoring reports on ‘systems strengthening’ for health using the district and state health action plan as a tool. The reports have been submitted to Govt. of Telangana and the MoHFW.
At The George, his focus is on:
- Developing guideline-based clinical algorithms and decision support rules for SMARThealth products. Expansion of SMARThealth platform to include other non-communicable diseases and scaling it up to newer geographic regions and in keeping the algorithms up-to-date with current guidelines.
- Developing and undertaking a process for local health system assessment for integration of SMARThealth products and services
