Anna Palagyi is a Research Fellow in the Injury Division at The George Institute. She manages the FOCUS study – a national collaborative project investigating the risk of injury associated with falls in older people with cataract.
Anna is a public health researcher with a background in international development, focusing on eye health services in the Asia and Pacific region. Anna has managed eye nurse education programs in Timor-Leste, the Solomon Islands and Fiji with The Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand. She has an undergraduate degree in optometry and completed a Master of Public Health in 2008.
Anna’s research interests include the social and personal impact of eye health and vision impairment, and their broader links with the health system and public health policy.
